I hope you are well and ready for some more Flash Fiction. I wanted to say a huge thank you to you all for my mum’s birthday wishes, she had a fantastic day and a fab party to celebrate turning 70!  As always, we are given our photo prompt by our wonderful Friday Fictioneer leader, Rochelle . Life is still manic at the moment with family, Easter and rehearsals for Spamalot the musical. To see exactly what I’ve been up to click here !

Jump

He stood tall and straight. The wind blowing through his dark curls.

“Wait,” Grace’s hand clamped down on my shoulder.

The man stepped forwards, his feet hanging over the edge.

“Now.”

I raced across the roof top.

His foot hovered in the air as my small hand gripped the hem of his crumpled suit jacket.

He stared down at me, eyes wide.

Screams and car horns pierced the air.

Grace appeared on the other side of the man.

“Well done Libby.”

“Why did you stop me?”

“I didn’t.”

“But…”

“It’s time.”

I take his hand in mine and smile.

“Jump!”

    • Hi Larry! This story may have been to subtle lol Grace and Libby are watching the man about to commit suicide. In my head they are soul/spirit collectors and Libby is learning how to do it. When Libby grabs him, she actually grabs his soul. They hear screams and car horns, that is because his physical body just hit the ground. When she says jump, they are heading into the ‘other side’ . I hope that makes more sense. Thank you for the birthday wishes and thank you so much for taking the time to read 🙂
