Cursed -Friday Fictioneers Flash Fiction Photo Prompt!

Hello all!

I hope you are well and ready for some more Flash Fiction. As always, we are given our photo prompt by our wonderful Friday Fictioneer leader, Rochelle . Life is still manic at the moment with family and rehearsals for Spamalot the musical. I can’t believe that in two weeks my hubby and I will be on stage performing! It’s so exciting! To see exactly what I’ve been up to click here !

So here is my attempt for this week. I hope you enjoy it.

Cursed

The chanting grew louder.

Trapped within the circle of masked strangers, the air vibrated, energy building.

 Serena…

My name floated on the breeze.

Luke’s grip tightened on my hand, did he hear it too?

A glint of metal in the moonlight.

 “Please don’t…” Luke whispered.

Pain slashed through my palm, Luke flinched beside me.

Our blood spilled over the ancient pages.

The words and pictures began moving, almost floating.

 “I love you.”

“Serena?”

“Say it!”

“I love you…”

A flash of blue light blinded me.

Silence.

I opened my eyes.

Luke was gone.

“It didn’t work.”

  1. It didn’t work for Serena, but it sure as hell worked for me. I learned from that piece about the way you crafted that story with stroboscopic images and my imagination to make it seem longer than it was. Great work!
