I hope you are well and ready for some more Flash Fiction. As always, we are given our photo prompt by our wonderful Friday Fictioneer leader, Rochelle . Life is still manic at the moment with family and rehearsals for Spamalot the musical. I can’t believe that in two weeks my hubby and I will be on stage performing! It’s so exciting! So here is my attempt for this week. I hope you enjoy it.

The chanting grew louder.
Trapped within the circle of masked strangers, the air vibrated, energy building.
My name floated on the breeze.
Luke’s grip tightened on my hand, did he hear it too?
A glint of metal in the moonlight.
“Please don’t…” Luke whispered.
Pain slashed through my palm, Luke flinched beside me.
Our blood spilled over the ancient pages.
The words and pictures began moving, almost floating.
“I love you.”
“I love you…”
A flash of blue light blinded me.
I opened my eyes.
Luke was gone.
“It didn’t work.”
